We talked before about the Lynx, did you felt like you must play again with those games and feel a kid once again? well, with Handy Linx that' s possible... Lets see How:
- Download Handy Lynx from here or here
- When the download is completed create a new folder, I called it HANDY LYNX and I will use this name in this tutorial too, and extract the zip file that you just downloaded into it.
- I created into the HANDY LYNX folder a new folder ROM where I keep all the roms that I downloaded.
- Now you should search the BIOS file to put inside the HANDY LYNX folder, the BIOS of Handy Lynx is called lynxboot.img , try here or use google. ATTENTION! inside the HANDY LYNX folder you will allready see a lynxboot.img file, but is just a dummy file that will not work...
- Now is time to download some ROMS, I suggest you the complete rom set that you can find here, or check around here for some single ROMS. After you download the ROM Unzip and place the .LNX file into the ROMS folder that you created.
- Now you are ready to play, double click on Handy Lynx icon inside HANDY LYNX folder and the software will be opened, the first screen you will see is a window where you can open a rom .lnx, choose your game from ROM folder and start to play...
CONFIGURATION
- OPEN A NEW GAME: Go to File>Load Cartridge> and from ROM folder (that you created before) open the file .lnx that you want
- JOYSTICK: Go to OPTIONS and Click on JOYTICK ENABLE, then OPTIONS and set the Joystick on Key Definitions...
- BACKGROUND and ZOOM: you can choose if play from a normal window or in the screen of a Lynx or a Lynx II picture, very cool! Go to OPTIONS and roll over SELECT BACKGROUND TYPE and choose which one you like. ATTENTION! if you use The Lynx or LynxII background don't use a high zoom, I suggest 1x or maximum 2x
- ROTATE SCREEN: Some games require the rotation of the screen, that's easy, go to OPTIONS and choose what you need, ROTATE SCREEN (LEFT) or ROTATE SCREEN (RIGHT).
- RESET: If you want to change a Cartridge just press F3 and open a new ROM.
