Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II, the secret of Ooze (1991)

The sequel, titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, expands on the Turtles' origin story while claiming the dubious distinction as Vanilla Ice's film debut. It is dedicated in memory of puppeteer Jim Henson. It also introduced the Turtles' human friend Keno (Ernie Reyes, Jr.) and Shredder's mutant henchmen Tokka and Rahzar. The original story was to include Bebop and Rocksteady at the insistence of the studio, but Laird and Eastman fought tooth and nail to prevent their inclusion, settling on Tokka and Rahzar as a compromise. The original ending to Ooze would also reveal the benevolent TGRI scientist, Jordon Perry (David Warner), to have been an Utrom. But due to budget constraints, plus the fear he may be mistaken for the character Krang, the plot twist was abandoned.

Hi guys. Many of you wrote me to ask this question: "WTF, why I can' t play Thrill Kill on epsxe?". Things are easy don't worry, no plugin problems, neither protections or stuffs like that..... The black screen that you see is just something that epsxe can't emulate, is the message that mention about adult contents in the game and to proceed you should just press X + SQUARE and you will be able to play without any other problem!
This game is one of the best ever released for PSX, enjoy!

Chankast Guide, SEGA Dreamcast Emulator

I never had a Sega Dreamcast even if I always wanted to, but I was young, few money and those few money was all for my dear PSX.... Well, now I can play with this unlucky console, I remember that there was many good games with an amazing graphic, I used to play to Virtua Soccer 2 and Virtua Tennis 2 in the penny arcade, that's so cool to can play those game on my pc after so many years! things are not perfect, every game have some graphic problems, but still playable... The Installation is not difficult, lets see...

- You will need to install 2 software to play with Chankast, one is of course the last version of Chankast (HERE) and if you want to play Image files from your Computer you will need Daemon Tools too (HERE), so if you want to play directly with your CD skip part 1, if you want to play with image files start with me now...

1) - Daemon-Tools, after you download and install the software you will have to restart your pc, then on your System Tray you will see the icon of Virtual DAEMON Manager, what you have to do now is to right Click on that Icon, go to VIRTUAL CD/DVD ROM > SET NUMBER OF DEVICES and Choose 1 DRIVE. you finish it... very easy!

HOW TO MOUNT AN IMAGE ON DAEMO TOOLS? easy.. go to the icon on your System Tray Left click on the icon of Daemon Tools and click on your device, a menu to choose the image to load will be opened, then just choose the image of the game that you want to play and click on open, you are ready to play!. to Unmount an image just click on the daemon tools icon on your system tray and choose UNMOUNT DRIVERS.

2)- Chankast: already downloaded and unzipped Chankast? good, now you should download the bios files ( dc_flash and dc_bios) and place both of them in the folder of Chankast that you just unzipped. Now from Chankast folder open Chankast, you will have just to set a couple of things:

- First thing, go to PLUGINS and click on CONFIGURE, first the CD-ROM PLUGIN, there are 2 choices, I don't use it so I choose CDrom Interface xxx, but if you use the CD-ROM is better the CDrom Interface Aspi, For the Input Plug in choose the ElSemi one.... things should look like this

Press ok. Now, if everything should be good.
- Now we shall configure the drive.... OPTIONS > CONFIGURE DRIVE if you use the CD use your Cd rom drive, if you use Daemon tools use the drive letter that you created before by installing Daemon Tools.

- Let's set the Controller! OPTIONS > CONFIGURE CONTROLS, if this window will appear everything is ok...

.. If not come back to change your input plugin. Now set the controller as you prefere.

-Set the video is not easy, every game need different configurations, OPTIONS > CONFIGURE VIDEO here you find everything you need to change if a game is not good. First of all in VIDEO MODE you can change the size of the screen, ZWRITE and ALPHATEST ZWRITE help those games that have problems with the written menus, I always keep SHOW STATS.
You can Choose the cable ntsc or pal from OPTIONS > CABLE TYPE.
If you want to play to CAPCOM games go to OPTIONS and choose the CAPCOM HACK, sometimes this help some other games too!

- MEMORY CARD: you will notice that every time that you launch a game it says that there is no free space on the memory card, you just go to the menu of Dreamcast and format the memory card, things will be ok!

Now you are ready to play. Mount the image of the game you want to play on Daemon Tools and after that on Chankast window go to RUN and click on START, if you cannot play it means that your CPU is not enough strong to run Chankast, you need a decent computer with a decent video card.

Diet Coke and Mentos Eruption? it works!

I saw this for the first time from Mythbusters on Discoery, after that youtube users made millions videos about it, there was even some music videos, but I was always wondering if this thing works or not? It passed a lot of time but I finally bought some soda bottles and some mint mentos... this is what happened:

PEPSI + MENTOS: The gaiser was not so high, I used 3 candies and nothing much happened

COKE + MENTOS: this was better, not yet like in the videos i saw but good enough

COKE ZERO + MENTOS: Same as normal Coke

DIET COKE + MENTOS: This is it! The eruption was much higher than the other soda drinks i used! just 3 candies but the eruption was almost double than pepsi and much higher than the other Coke.... Unbelievable !!!

I will make soon some videos too.... just the time to make some decent videos and trash more bottles of Cola, till then I put the funniest videos about Coke & Mentos Eruption...

Project 64 Guide, the best emulator for NIntendo 64!

I never had a Nintendo 64, I was a Playstation-holic and the Nintendo console seemed a toy for kids, nothing that could be compared to my amazing PSX! So I just discover now, thanx to the project 64 team, some amazing games that made history as Mario Kart or Mario64.
Talking about the emulator I think is really simple if compared to epsxe, but maybe the compatibility with the roms is not high as in the psx emulator, anyway Project64 runs very well and I am sure that if the team will continue the development of the emulator they can reach almost the perfection.
Let's see how to make P64 Works...

As I said the emulator is very easy to se and Install, let's start:

-Minimum system required:
Intel Pentium 3 700Mhz or AMD Athlon 800Mhz CPU
128MB system RAM
Microsoft DirectX 7 compatible video, sound and input devices
Microsoft Windows 98
Microsoft DirectX 7 or more

-Download the Project 64 from here, version 1.7 is not free cuz is the newest version and the team ask a 20 bucks donation, the 1.6 is free to be downloaded, there are differences between the 2 versions but nothing change much in the settings and installation.

- When the download finish install project 64.... is easy and I don' t think i should tell you how to do it step by step... now go to START > ALL PROGRAMS > you will find the folder PROJECT 64, then launch the emulator by clicking PROJECT64 1.6 or whichever version you have.

- The window of this emulator is very simple, as simple as is to be set! trust me... you are almost done!!

- Download roms for nintendo 64 from EMUPARADISE (always the best!)

- Create a folder on your computer where you will collect the N64 roms, then go to your project64 and click on FILE > CHOOSE ROM DIRECTORY... and then choose the folder that you' ve just created to keep your roms.

- Now you should set your control buttons, OPTIONS > CONFIGURE CONTROLLER PLUGIN and then choose the keys that you prefere... in version 1.7 the menu for the controller is much better then the 1.6 version. Check this picture for some help,,, I use a controller that similar to the one for playstation

DIGITAL PAD: I use the digital pad of my joypad
ANALOG STICK: I use the left analog stick of my joyad
C-BUTTONS: not very confortable but I use the right analog stick but i change the settings in some games

- VIDEO SETTINGS: OPTIONS > CONFIGURE GRAPHICS PLUGIN, I suggest you to change the inbox resolution as it fit better with your screen and if you have a widescreen during the game you can configure the aspect in ASPECT DISPLAY section.

-PLUGINS: Everything should work right, when you will add a rom into your folder project 64 will detect it and advise you if there are problems with some plugins, but I think that most of you will be able to play without touch anything... Need more plugins? for the video you can find Daedalus Graphics, DaedalusD3D, Glide64, glNintendo64 and Jabo's Direct3D for the audio there is only one, Azimer's audio, only one for the controller too, Jabo's DirectInput.... you can find all those plugins here at EmuAsylum

- Now you are ready! Click on the Title that you want to play directly from Project64 and... enjoy!

Parappa The Rapper (playstation) - Review, Download, Cheats, Gameplay video

Without this game probably we could not play to Guitar Hero or Beat Mania. Parappa The Rapper put in a video game the idea of Simon, push a button in the right moment, a thing that inspired many developers in the future.
Of course this game started the Rhythm games, not very cmplex but still a good game of this genre, the plot, the characters amd the songs are very interesting and funny, the gameplay is just simple but not boring.

The songs are very funny and I felt excied to listen them after long time, I was young and my hair was long when I last played this game.... anyway an important game for those who love rhythm games. According to the Hitwise.com rankink of the 31st october 2009, Yahoo is the most popular webmail provider in the US, followed by Hotmail, Gmail and AOL. So, why I don' t talk about Hotmail too? the answer is simple, the service that Hotmail provide can't be compared with gmail or yahoo, all the users that Hotmail can ave are mostly for chatting reasons.

In this post I will just write my opinions about the two webmail providers, good and bad things, I use accounts in both providers everyday, for work and for contact my family and friends. For this blog I use yahoo, for another blog gmail, for my job just Gmail.. let's see how to choose the right account for you...

We will talk first about Gmail. Is much younger than yahoo mail, almost 8 years, but it grew up very quickly and it became one of users top choice in few time, allready in the first beta version when you could only have an account with invitation and not with sign in. Let's check what is good and what's bad agout Gmail.

+ Fast, much faster than Yahoo, the feeling of real time messaging that gmail created broke the static system of yahoo and introduced a more dynamic way to send messages

+ The interface is something completely different than yahoo and in the past year was improved a lot, for users that come from yahoo the first moment on gmail can be wierd but in the end is easy to understand and everybody will get habit quicly

- Organize and archive the mails is a little bit confusing, specially for business purpose. In the last 6 months anyway gmail introduced something similar to the folders in yahoo and things are getting much better.

+Beta forever.... the most dynamic thing that google could do, and it seems that they use this politic in every product.

+ Automatic forwarding is allowed

+ Easy to use with Outlook

+ Gmail introduced first the chat on page and it was a revolutionary element itself!

+ 7.5 GB storage and 25 mb attachment allowed

+ 100% compatible with every google products... I love Google docs and I can' t wait for Wave

+ Search an archived email is very easy, good internal search engine.

Now is Yahoo Mail turn, one of the first provider that gave a free webmail service, it is the most used in the world since 1997 when yahoo mail was created.
In my point of view yahoo is not dynamic as Gmail, but people get habit about it and often people is lazy to change the old for the new. Let's see better...

+ The storage and archiving method is good, the folders system help a lot to keep a clean archive.

- To can use Outlook and the automatic forwarding must upgrade....

+ After more than 10 years yahoo decided to use a new interface similar to outlook, I like it and I thing is much functional that the older version.

- Slower than Gmail

- I use both Gmail and yahoo for more than 3 years, yahoo oftens had bugs and problems, gmail never.

CONCLUSION

I think Gmail is superior than Yahoo Mail, but often people is lazy to change or they just don' t feel to cuz of the habit. Gmail is good for a personal use and for small and big business, yahoo only for personal use but not much for business.

Klonoa: Door To Phantomile (playstation) - Review, Cheats, Download, Gameplay

Very popular in Japan, a bit less in America and Europe but this game was one of the most original platform I ever played. As you can see in the video Below the gameplay is not in the common 2d but neither in the Crash 3d version, this game can be categorized as a middle way, many changing of cameras, the game is very fast and can be considered an original mix of almost every glorious platform.
I used to play too much with mario, sonic and crash, Lomnoa take me back to the platforms, this game is too funny to be true!!

Klonoa, a look-like cat, Is in the fantastic world of Phantomile, a land where nobody remember their dreams... the 2.5 D adventure of Klonoa is an amazing mix of many good factors, first of all the characters, very funny when they speak their fantastic language and amazingly drawn. The second strong part of this game is the fastness, the game is similar to Pandemonium but at my point of view much better in every single field, Klonoa is easy to control, not any bug that will drive you crazy. The third strong element of this game is the ambientation, the fantastic worlds created by the Namco's designer are very beautiful, I also appreciated some RPG dialogs style that the developers of this game used.
A game that maybe was not very famous but one that is in my top list!

I could find only 1 thread about this in google, so I guess it was something about my configuration of epsxe, but if I use the epsx170 version it happen that at the "insert your name" screen I cannot type anything, I tried every single configuration but there was no way out. I tried then to load the iso with epsx160 and everything was just fine....

Mega Drive, in Northern America Genesis for some copyrights problems, was one of the best console ever released and had a big fight at the time with the Super Nintendo.
By talking about this console we have to go back in 1988 when in Japan was released the Mega Drive, this will be the best SEGA' s console ever with more than 29 Million units sold, but numbers were not enough to conquer the japanese market where Nintendo was reigning. The success of Mega Drive was visible in Europe and in the U.S. where it was released in 1990 and for a long time the SEGA console was the leader against the war with Nintendo. Now the Mega Drive is still sold in Brazil with some new versions of this system.

Let's go back in 2000, this game left a lot of good memories to me and my friends, the multyplayer was something very funny, in fact a multytap and some beers warmed many nights of that cold winter.
I am a big Fan of Nascar but this is nothing about nascar, the only real thing about the brand are just the cars, but it had many good critics and reviews at that time cuz it was funny and super fast game with many weapons in wipeout style.

This is one was a surprise, no one was looking forward for this game, but everybody in the end liked it. The game is very fast, still very funny, full of shortcuts and weapons that reminded me a middle way between mario kart and wipeout. There are many tracks, many cars and the longevity of the game is very high, nothing bad at all, just pure fun and speed, in many years that I play to this game i never pressed to the brake!!!
Nothing about Nascar but a Rumble game that is even funnier if played with some friends... check it out!

It' s amazing to play again to a game that made history, it took me back in 1996 when I bought my PSX, for the first period I had only some demos and the demo of this game used to run in the console for about 5 hours per day, just one track... boring? well, not at that time! It was something amazing.
Some years later I bought the platinum edition, I was playing with games like TOCA and Gran Turismo but Ridge Racer was always one of the most played, maybe it was old and passed but still charming and meaningful game.
Now after many years and many generations passed I play again at this game..... what I think?... Let's see....

ABOUT

1995, Namco, Racing Arcade
As I said this game is the history of racing games, everything started from here, from the 3d menus till the details on the track, I have to admit that even if 15 years passed and even if many console's generations passed too but this game is still playable and charming. Only 1 track that change shape with the different difficult level ok but there are many amazing details like the fact that the other cars on the tracks are tough and not static, a bit improvement from the other game available in that moment.
Namco did something great, even if later they could not beat the other games of this genre. I love Ridge Racer and I think everybody should play this and respect it as a piece of History.

Move the Title Screen Flag
On the title screen, hold any two of the four shoulder buttons (L1, L2, R1, or R2), and use the other controls to change the flag. Use the D-Pad, Circle, and Square buttons to rotate, Triangle and X to zoom, and Start to make it see-through.

Race Mirrored Tracks
After starting a race accelerate forward and then turn around and face the starting line. There should be a wall there. Accelerate to over 60mph and go through the wall. You will now race the mirror of that track. The turns will be opposite and the lettering will be flipped.

Listen to Music
This is able to be done on quite a few different Playstation games. All you need to do is pause the game and then put in your own music CD, then when you unpause the game, you should listen to that music for the rest of the race.

This is a very easy thing, kids can do it too, but if it is your first time and it will not be as scary as you thought don' t worry... the next one will be better!

So... Tomorrow is Halloween, it' s time to be ready and prepare the decorations and of course the Pumpkins... let's start...

- Put some newspapers under the place where you will carve your pumpkin, it will be dirty! (but it is so funny!)

-Cut the top of the pumpkin, you should create a hat that will close the pumpkin after this dirty job will be finished... during this operation the blade should be kept in a horizontal position....

- Now scoop everything out! take away everything, the most you can, specially on the side of the pumpkin that you will crave cuz the thinnest it is the easier it is!

-Now is time to design! I suggest you to do it first on a piece of paper... then you can draw it again on the pumpkin or you can cut the paper and pin the elements over the pumpkin... depend on you, I prefere to draw it directly over. after you finish this part with a cutter make a track of the design that you just created....

-With a knife now cut eyes, nose and mouth. Follow the track that you just made. Be very careful and cut slowly and straight, always keep the position of the blade at 90 degrees

To push out the pieces that you want to cut use fingers but not too strong!!!

- Easy right?! place a candle inside and close the hat.... You just created a scary lantern

epsxe - Playstation emulator: Tutorial and settings

epsxe is without any doubt the best emulator for psx available. It seems complicated but in the end is one of the easiest and most compatible emulator among every kind.
In this tutorial I will show you how to install and set the epsxe, you will need some plugin, the bios and maybe some additional file... then you will be able to play with every single game released! wow... a good way to comeback young... well let's start...

DOWNLOAD EPSXE
You will find the epsxe in the official site of this amazing emulator, HERE, go to DOWNLOADS and save the epsxe v1.7.0 but I suggest you to install the 1.6.0 too cuz some games run better on that version too... don' t worry, the configuration that I will explain here is exactly the same for both versions.
Unzip the file and place the folder wherever you want!

BIOS
Download the PSX BIOS is not legal... so do it at your own risk, here i make a list of the BIOS files available: Dtlh3000, Dtlh3002, Scph1000, Scph1001, Scph5000. Scph5500, Scph5502, Scph7000, Scph7001, Scph7003, Scph7502. Check HERE or in GOOGLE.
Whenever you will have a BIOS remember to place the .BIN file into the EPSXE_BIOS folder that you will find into the EPSXE170 folder.

PLUGIN

Another important and necessary element to make the epsxe works properly is to install the right plugins, I will make it easy and I will use the method of the guide that helped me on my first installation of epsxe (check the link in the bottom of this article to see the guide).
Download THIS FILE and unzip. now put every file into the PLUGINS folder.
About the plugins that you just downloaded:

cdrPeops.dll - CD-ROM plug-in.
gpuPeopsSoft - video plug-in. For computers with a slow video card
gpuPeteD3D.dll, gpuPeteDX6D3D.dll, gpuPeteOpenGL.dll - video plug-ins that render the 3D graphics
gpuPeteOpenGL2.dll - video plug-ins that render the 3D graphics, the best, but only for new video cards
spuEternal.dll - audio plug-in.
spuEternalL.dll - just a supporting file for spuEternal.dll

START EPSXE!

go to your EPSXE170 folder and click on EPSX.EXE, if you have an error that say "Zlib1.dll was not found" don't worry cuz is a common thing, just download HERE , unzip and place the zlib1.dll in the EPSX170 folder, now retry to open EPSXE.EXE and everything should be ok!

SETTINGS

Set the epsxe is not difficoult, when you will run for the 1st time the software the WIZARD GUIDE will be automatically opened, follow step by step, and choose the Plugins as I explained above, everything depend on your computer. Choose the BIOS and choose the Keys of the controller, it will take just a copule of minutes.

VIDEO: set the video like this and you should not have any problems: go to CONFIG, VIDEO, on main video plugin choose one that is right for you, then click on CONFIGURE , on the new window check at the bottom on "default setting" and click on NICE, press OK and then OK again.... it should work perfectly!

CONTROLLER: CONFIG, GAME PAD, choose your port and choose your controller and the keys... very easy!

DOWNLOAD ROMS!

And is time to play! if you want to play from CD click on FILE, RUN CD-ROM and select your driver, if you want to play a ISO file, go to FILE, RUN ISO and choose the file that you just downloaded from emuparadise.
Everything should work.... but you can experience some problems...

ECM FILE?

You downloaded an ISO and it turn to be an ECM file? what is that? well, you just download THIS extract wherever you want, open the folder that you just extract and drag the .ECM file that you downloaded from EMUPARADISE over the icon called UNECM, a DOS window will be opened, everything will be automatic, when the DOS window will be closed you can delete the old .ECM file and you will notice a brand new file near it.... ready to be opened with EPSXE! (more info here)

PROTECTED GAME?

first of all check if the you find any patch against the protection in this place (HERE), if is not here check below... if you find the patch .PPF download it and download PPF O MATIC. Now Unzip PPF O MATIC and from the folder launch ppf-o-matic3.exe. Add the ISO and ADD the patch .PPF and click on APPLY. Now you can play!

TRY ANOTHER VERSION!

If some games doesn't work on 1.7.0 try to set the 1.6.0 version of EPSXE and launch it with this older version, it works with some games!

CHEATS

This thing works like a gameshark, download the PEC( psx emulation cheater), and install it in your computer. now... Launch the PEC and from the list choose the codes that you need and click on SEND CHEATS TO THE PLUG IN and before start the game in EPSXE go to CONFIG, VIDEO and choose "psx emulator cheater" as the main plug in, then start the game normally, should work but some games have problems.

Well, another classic game, maybe one of the most famous for Lynx, for a long period it was included in the package of the console. The game was very simple and the longevity not high but anyway this game made history. I loved BMX and Surfing, the music of Surfing was amazing at that time, I remember that I spent hundreds of hours trying to beat my score record. The same I felt for BMX, maybe the most complex game in this cartridge and without any doubt the one with more bugs. Footbag is a cool game but become boring after few times.... Skateboarding is the worse, I took many months to understand how it works and was neither funny. Take a look...

Clear BMX path:
Position your bike approximately one pixel above the location where the grass meets the dirt to avoid all obstacles including the hay bales.

Pelican ride:
Run your last surfer towards the bottom of the screen during the final few seconds of the surfing event. Your surfer will land on the pelican that flies across the screen until time expires.

Faster footbag spins:
Jump, hit the footbag with your head, then immediately spin to spin faster than normal.

Extra surfing points:
You can do an Unreal 360 (five 360s) for 1,200 points instead of just getting 600 points for a Quadruple 360.

Rescale screen:
Press Option 2 while skating in the Half-pipe event to rescale the screen.

Glitch: Crash game:
The game may crash during the BMX event if you hit the bale of hay on the bottom of the track just before the finish line.

Glitch: Invisible object:
During the BMX event, if you are riding very fast while you cross the finish line and jump slightly after crossing it, you will crash into an invisible object at the far right.

Windows Vista Or Windows XP? just an opinion...

My wife has a notebook, an Acer TravelMate 6291 bought a couple of years ago with a Windows Vista integrated. She used to complain since the first minute about the slow startup of Vista and the problems that she faced by using some programs like OpenOffice, nothing heavy at all.... Well, after a year and a half I decided that I had enough and I changed the operating system to XP, with a tutorial it was pretty easy!
The startup in XP is much faster, before it took 3 or 4 minutes, now 45 seconds and I installed allready everything as it was in Vista... Of course things are not cute as before, no effects, no more the movie maker of vista (maybe the nly good thing in that version of windows), but everything is much faster, even play some flash games became much smoother than before, now everybody is happy!
Which is the meaning of this post? well, there is not, I just wanted to complain about vista and its not clever development, XP is old, raw, old fashioned and ugly but at least is quicker and easier... I even tried the trial version of wndows 7 ( I will tell you my opinions later...). but I still think that most of people will still use XP for a long time, I am pretty sure that the newest version of windows wont be able to dethrone an opeerating system that was created almost 10 years ago....unbelievable but true... People, don't change the old for the new....

Handy Lynx Tutorial, Download, Guide, Roms, Bios, and Settings

We talked before about the Lynx, did you felt like you must play again with those games and feel a kid once again? well, with Handy Linx that' s possible... Lets see How:

- Download Handy Lynx from here or here

- When the download is completed create a new folder, I called it HANDY LYNX and I will use this name in this tutorial too, and extract the zip file that you just downloaded into it.

- I created into the HANDY LYNX folder a new folder ROM where I keep all the roms that I downloaded.

- Now you should search the BIOS file to put inside the HANDY LYNX folder, the BIOS of Handy Lynx is called lynxboot.img , try here or use google. ATTENTION! inside the HANDY LYNX folder you will allready see a lynxboot.img file, but is just a dummy file that will not work...

- Now is time to download some ROMS, I suggest you the complete rom set that you can find here, or check around here for some single ROMS. After you download the ROM Unzip and place the .LNX file into the ROMS folder that you created.

- Now you are ready to play, double click on Handy Lynx icon inside HANDY LYNX folder and the software will be opened, the first screen you will see is a window where you can open a rom .lnx, choose your game from ROM folder and start to play...

CONFIGURATION

- OPEN A NEW GAME: Go to File>Load Cartridge> and from ROM folder (that you created before) open the file .lnx that you want

- JOYSTICK: Go to OPTIONS and Click on JOYTICK ENABLE, then OPTIONS and set the Joystick on Key Definitions...

- BACKGROUND and ZOOM: you can choose if play from a normal window or in the screen of a Lynx or a Lynx II picture, very cool! Go to OPTIONS and roll over SELECT BACKGROUND TYPE and choose which one you like. ATTENTION! if you use The Lynx or LynxII background don't use a high zoom, I suggest 1x or maximum 2x

- ROTATE SCREEN: Some games require the rotation of the screen, that's easy, go to OPTIONS and choose what you need, ROTATE SCREEN (LEFT) or ROTATE SCREEN (RIGHT).

- RESET: If you want to change a Cartridge just press F3 and open a new ROM.

I hope that this guide was useful, if some parts was not clear go to check this guide from Atari Age, I followed this guide too when I wanted to install Handy.

Remove / Delete Subscribe to: Posts (Atom) from Blogger

The Navbar of Blogger is not annoying at all, but this ugly thing on the bottom of our blogs is very boring... Let's take it off! It is not easy as the NavBar cuz the string to modify is positioned in the middle of the HTML form, but once again you will have only to copy and paste something... not hard at all right? ok, let's start:

- From your DASHBOARD go to LAYOUT, then click on EDIT HTML.
- Now... search this inside the HTML code, every template have it positioned in a different spot, but commonly is near the middle of the electronic sheet...

- The blue lines are not the same in every template but in most of them... now copy and paste the red string as shown in the exemple below:

Blogger 's NavBar is not an annoying element as the pop out in some other blog providers, but there is the possibility to take it off, and today I am going to explain to you how to do it.... Don' t worry, it will require just a couple of minutes... Let' s see how:

- From your DASHBOARD click on LAYOUT, then EDIT HTML.
- Now, Check your HTML form and search for this part: (These strings are differents in each template, but it's not hard to find them)... (don' t worry, it is not far from the top).

If you want to change the text or add an image for Newer Posts, Home or Older Posts links placed on the bottom of your Blogger Blog you are in the right place...
Let' s start:

- Of course Log in to your blogger account...
-Layout > Edit HTML
-On BACKUP/RESTORE TEMPLATE section, click on DOWNLOAD FULL TEMPLATE so if you mistake something there will be no problems for restore your original Template
-Go to EDIT TEMPLATE section and select EXPAND WIDGET TEMPLATES
-Now search for this (Ctrl+F):

Atari Lynx

It was Christmas, I think 1991 or 1992, Santa or my parents bought for me a Lynx after I required a Game Boy... I am happy that they choosed this machine cuz I have so many good memories.... Let' s see a bit more about Lynx:

History

The Lynx was the second handheld game with the Atari name to actually be produced, the first was Atari Inc.'s handheld electronic game Touch Me. Atari Inc. had previously worked on several other handheld projects including the Breakout and Space Invaders, the Atari Cosmos portable/tabletop console. However, those projects were shut down during development - some just short of their intended commercial release.
The Lynx system was originally developed by Epyx as the Handy Game. Planning and design of the console began in 1986 and completed in 1987. Epyx first showed the Handy system at the Winter Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 1989. Facing financial difficulties, Epyx sought out partners. Atari Corp. and Epyx eventually agreed that Atari Corp. would handle production and marketing, while Epyx would handle software development.
Atari Corp. changed the internal speaker and removed the thumb-stick on the control pad before releasing it as the Lynx, initially retailing in the US at US$189.95. Atari Corp. then showed the Lynx to the press at the Summer 1989 CES as the "Portable Color Entertainment System", which was changed to Lynx when actual consoles were distributed to resellers.
However, Nintendo's new Game Boy was also introduced at the 1989 CES. At $90, it was much less expensive than the Lynx, without the color or custom chips. Nintendo had no problems supplying retailers with the Game Boy for the Christmas season while Atari Corp. only managed limited distribution of their Lynx by year's end.

Drawbacks

Though technologically superior to the Game Boy, a number of factors thwarted success of the unit:

-Nintendo's marketing muscle, domination of 3rd party developers, and quality first party game releases (particularly Tetris), ensured the Game Boy always enjoyed vastly superior software support.

-Nintendo's clout with retailers gave plenty of shelf space for Game Boy. Atari struggled to convince retailers to sell the Lynx.

-The Lynx needed six batteries versus the four in the original Game Boy. The more powerful architecture of the Lynx, plus its backlit screen, would drain a set of six AA batteries in less than four hours (five to six hours in the Lynx II).

-The original Lynx was also physically large and cumbersome. Atari Corp. had followed the advice of focus groups who wanted a bigger unit because that gave them "more" for their money. While the system is considered comfortable to hold, its portability was limited, and proved to be much harder to carry around than the Game Boy (which easily fits in a large pocket), this was especially true when the Lynx was full of batteries making it quite heavy.

-The Lynx sold at a substantially higher price than the Game Boy, due to the cost of the screen and more elaborate custom chips.

-The original Lynx had problems with its cartridge slot. A cartridge was easy to insert but, because of their design, were difficult to remove from the system. The Lynx II remedied this problem.

-The developer's kit for the Lynx was expensive and required an Amiga computer (Atari Corp.'s own ST computers could not be used). The two creators of the system, RJ Mical and Dave Needle, were also members of the Amiga design team and much to the frustration of Atari Corp., the Amiga was used as the software development platform.
